3/3 Cooking with Maya
Sunday March 3rd 2-5pm Taught by Maya Dailey We will make Maya's curry with her in-season greens and root vegetables. Students will harvest the vegetables for the curry as well as help with the preparation and final cooking and sharing of the dish. Participants will be given the recipe and take home a sample CSA.

Friday March 15th 6-8pm Taught By: Sally LaPlace Description: How to plant and maintain your vegetable, flower and lawns with cover crops between seasons or as a rotation crop. Enrich your soil with nitrogen and organic matter annual applications that are good for weed suppression and nitrogen fixing anytime of year. We will observe and talk about small scale cover crops, as well as talk about how Maya is growing a cover crop to increase fertility, prevent erosion, attract beneficial and control pests. This class is a one hour interactive class that will discuss types of grains (cover crop) you can use, how to plant, what the different grains ‘mine’ as nutrients and attract as beneficials.

REAL FARMERS TEACHING REAL TECHNIQUES is a series of educational and inspiring classes taught by local farmers in collaboration with Maya Dailey of Maya’s Farm and The Farm at South Mountain.

Participants can choose from a variety of classes ranging from planting tomatoes to cooking with Maya herself to fabricating poultry and more. Details for each class including price, time and description are available in ticket purchase area.
